Tanvi & Naman | Visiting Queenstown from AustraliaThere is something incredibly special about photographing expectant parents while they are away from home. They are relaxed, present, and soaking up the magic of a place they have chosen to celebrate such a meaningful chapter.
Tanvi and Naman were visiting Queenstown from Australia for their pre-baby holiday, and when they reached out about a maternity session, I knew straight away that this would be something truly beautiful. Spring had arrived in Queenstown, the lupins were in bloom, and the evenings were stretching long and golden. It was the perfect setting to capture this fleeting moment before their world changed forever. A Babymoon in Queenstown and a Moment to Remember Babymoons have become one of my favourite sessions to photograph. There is a calmness to them. A softness. An intentional pause before the newborn days begin. Tanvi and Naman wanted their session to feel natural and unforced. Less about posing and more about documenting how this chapter felt. We chose a quiet spot along the Shotover River, surrounded by wild lupins, with the mountains glowing softly as the sun dipped low. Springtime in Queenstown has a way of wrapping everything in warmth and ease. Sunset, Lupins and the Shotover River As the light softened, we wandered slowly through the lupins, stopping often, talking, laughing, and letting the session unfold naturally. This is always my approach, especially for couples who are travelling. No rushing. No pressure. Just gentle guidance and space to be yourselves. The Shotover River offered the most stunning backdrop. Braided water, open skies, and that unmistakable Queenstown glow at sunset. It was peaceful, grounding, and deeply fitting for a session celebrating new beginnings. Why Queenstown Is Perfect for a Babymoon Maternity Session Queenstown is not just a holiday destination. It is a place where memories are made. Many of my babymoon clients tell me the same thing. They wanted photos here because this trip will always mean something to them. Your maternity session becomes more than just photographs.
